Reuben Gobezie, MD

Founder/Director, GO Ortho, Cleveland Shoulder Institute, Regen Orthopedics

Orthopedic Surgeon, Reuben Gobezie, MD, is a nationally recognized leader in the care of shoulder and sports injuries. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Gobezie was named one of the top 25 shoulder specialists in the US as ranked by leaders in the field. He has made pioneering contributions to the areas of minimally invasive and arthroscopic shoulder replacement surgery, cartilage transplantation for the treatment of young patients with arthritis and biceps surgery.

Dr. Gobezie was voted one of America’s top doctors by his patients. He is a six-time Patient’s Choice Award winner, an honor bestowed on less than one percent of physicians nationally, and the result of online patient ratings of their medical care.

He has treated many athletes from colleges, universities and high schools throughout Ohio, and was formerly a team physician for the Cleveland Gladiators. Dr. Gobezie has also previously served as an NFL consulting physician for the Cleveland Browns and as head team physician for Gilmour Academy.

Scott Zimmer, MD

Scott M. Zimmer, MD, has been a leading hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgeon in northeast Ohio for more than a decade. He provides expert care for all disorders of the hand, elbow and shoulder from fracture care to joint replacement, including the latest arthroscopic treatments.

Dr. Zimmer has been named one of Cleveland’s best orthopedic and hand surgeons over the last five years by his peers in the medical field. Prior to launching Ohio Hand Center, Dr. Zimmer directed the Hand and Upper Extremity Center for UH Geauga Medical Center for 10 years.

Dr. Zimmer completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University with honors. He graduated first in his class from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio. His advanced training in surgery of the hand, elbow and shoulder was completed at The University of Florida, Shands Hospital.

American Society for Surgery of the HandDr. Zimmer is a board-certified member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, a select group of top hand surgeons in the US.

Alexander J. Carter, PA-C

Alexander J. Carter, PA-C, provides care for patients through all four of our family of orthopedic groups including: Go Ortho, Cleveland Shoulder Institute, Ohio Hand Center and Regen Orthopedics.

Prior to joining our orthopedic practices, AJ gained clinical experience at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Spine Health. He directed the pre-operative and post-operative management of patients, including: medication administration, imaging test interpretation and wound care. He obtained patient histories and performed physical examinations.

AJ earned his Master of Science, Health Science from Cleveland State University and his post-degree professional certificate in Physician Assistant Studies from Cuyahoga Community College. He has his Ohio State Medical License and is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Ohio State University where he graduated cum laude.

Michelle Ford, PA-C

Michelle joined our practice in early 2017 upon graduating from the highly-regarded Physician Assistant program at Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University. While enrolled in both institutions simultaneously, Michelle took complementary courses to earn a post-degree professional certificate and a Master of Science in Health Science degree. She also served as the Physician Assistants Talking Health Chairman, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Cleveland State University.

Michelle provides care within our multi-specialty orthopedic groups including: Go Ortho, Cleveland Shoulder Institute, Ohio Hand Center and Regen Orthopedics. Michelle is a member of the American Academy for Physician Assistants and the Ohio Association for Physician Assistants.

Chris Rupprecht, PA-C

Christopher C. Rupprecht, PA-C, has exceptional experience as a physician assistant. Prior to joining Cleveland Shoulder Institute, Chris gained clinical experience in emergency medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and Euclid Hospital. He performed procedures, physical examinations and ordered and interpreted diagnostic laboratory tests and imaging studies. He managed a wide array of patient conditions from critical illnesses to minor injuries.

Chris earned his Physician Assistant degree from Cleveland State where he graduated summa cum laude. He also received several leadership and academic awards and was voted class president of the Physician Assistant Student Society. Chris earned his associate degree in Pre-Medical Sciences from Cuyahoga Community College. He has his Ohio State Medical License and is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Music from Kentucky Christian University and master’s of arts in Theology from Lincoln Christian University.

While primarily serving Go Ortho patients, Chris also cares for patients through Cleveland Shoulder Institute, Ohio Hand Center and Regen Orthopedics.

Allyson Skebe PA-C

Allyson Skebe, PA-C, has more than 15 years of experience as a physician assistant. Since joining the Cleveland Shoulder Institute in 2008, she has worked in collaboration with Dr. Reuben Gobezie to manage the care and rehabilitation needs of patients recovering from surgeries, injuries and other conditions. This includes management of musculoskeletal conditions, with an emphasis in aiding patients return to their highest level of function possible.

Ally consults and educates patients in the clinical setting and treats joint aspirations and injections, often using ultrasound guidance. She interprets x-rays, CT scans, MRIs and stabilizes fractures.

Ally provides expert care within multi-specialty orthopedic groups including: Go Ortho, Cleveland Shoulder Institute, Ohio Hand Center and Regen Orthopedics.

Prior to joining the Cleveland Shoulder Institute, Ally worked as a physician assistant for a knee and hip surgeon at Upper Bucks Orthopaedics in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Indiana University and graduated from DeSales University with a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She has her Ohio State Medical License and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
