What makes GO Ortho different?

We make getting in to see an orthopedic specialist easy. GO Ortho operates like an urgent care facility but specifically for musculoskeletal issues such as aches, breaks and sprains. GO Ortho provides quick access to orthopedic specialists for non-surgical care.

How can I save money if I go to GO Ortho?

GO Ortho can save you time and money as appointments are billed as regular orthopedic office visits. By going to GO Ortho first, you can avoid the ER waiting room and the emergency-level bill.

Do I have to make an appointment?

We recommend that you call ahead for an exact appointment time.  Calling ahead for a same-day appointment helps us to minimize wait times and deliver high quality orthopedic service to our patients. We strive to provide you with same-day service efficiently and comprehensively.

What insurance do you accept?

GO Ortho accepts most major insurance as well as Worker’s Compensation (BWC).

Do I need to bring anything?

Please bring your insurance information and if you have been seen for your orthopedic problem previously, please bring all documentation (X-rays, MRI, CT scan etc. and notes from other physicians etc.) so we can avoid ordering imaging or tests that have already been performed.  If you can obtain them, please bring the actual images to your GO Ortho appointment. If you don’t have the images on CD or printed, then try to bring a report of the results for those images.

What if I need surgery? Does GO Ortho provide this service?

Surgery does not take place at the GO Ortho office. However, our staff is well acquainted with the best orthopedic surgeons in the region and will facilitate follow-up appointments with the right specialist if we believe surgical intervention may be necessary. The key is, we can often get most of the work-up completed for you before you see the surgeon. Often, our expertise with orthopedic problems provides a great service to our patients who don’t know who to go to within our complex medical environment. We can help you navigate this efficiently.

What is your philosophy on prescribing pain medication?

Pain can be a very difficult problem to treat. Each and every one of us has different perceptions of pain and different thresholds to painful stimuli. Other conditions, such as depression and anxiety, can affect how we perceive pain and can make pain much worse.

In the United States, prescription drug abuse and misuse (opioid or “narcotic” medications) caused over 18,800 deaths in 2014, and 78 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose (see Opioid Addiction Facts & Figures below). We do not recommend using these powerful medications to treat pain, as there are many other classes of medications and therapies that should be used first instead. We will not prescribe these medications as a primary form of treatment.  We will only prescribe narcotic pain medication on a short term basis (i.e. fractures, specific injuries).  For long term management of pain, it will typically have to be managed by pain management specialists or the patient’s primary care provider.

In 2011, Governor John Kasich established the Governor’s Cabinet Opiate Action Team to help fight this epidemic. This task force has asked all physicians and providers to help put an end to this needless problem.  Please read through these helpful resources for more information:
